Upgraded Search
The search functionality has been overhauled, providing more relevant results from multiple controls such as content, PDFs, page titles, profiles, news articles and generic content.
Extra functionality can be bolted on for a fee, which can include:
- AI-generated summaries of the search results

New Feature: Two-Factor Authentication
Users now have the ability to set up 2FA on their account. Admins have the ability to flag users to set up 2FA each time they log in.
Enhancements
- Improved the functionality and security of resetting a users password. Now it sends an email with a secure link to let the user set a new password.
- Upgraded TLS to 1.2
- Added a new 'Super User' role to allow certain users higher privileges such as:
- Managing scripts in <head> content.
- Managing site settings
- Turn on/off 2FA
- Increased the default user login time from 30 minutes to 8 hours.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed bug not allowing users to create new forms
- The default homepage canonical tag was incorrect
- Profile and news pages were causing issues with bots and generating a large amount of traffic
- Removing the 'Remember me' checkbox from the login page as it is redundant.

New Feature: Canonical tag
Admins can now add a canonical tag to pages in the advanced section of page settings. This is to stop search engines from finding duplicated content on different pages. Find out more information on the canonical tag.
Enhancements
- Added links on each management page to areas of the bLive support guide to help users.
- Added additional security headers which includes help prevent XSS attacks, stop other websites from putting your site in an iframe and enforcing HTTPS among others.
Bug Fixes
- Logging in as an admin now takes users to the admin area unless a redirect is set up.
- News articles had an incorrect Open Graph URL (for sharing to social media). This has been fixed and also implemented a canonical tag for news articles.

New Feature: Change History (beta)
This new control creates an audit log of changes made in the CMS such as page, content, navigation, form, and news changes.
This will aid Blue Level in debugging issues and give insights into how users manage their websites.
Currently, this feature is only available to Blue Level but the plan is to give Administrators access soon.

Bug Fixes
- Users could not add an apostrophe into the navigation.

In the form viewer control the date picker was in US format and the year dropdown doesn't go back very far. This has been changed to UK date format by default and the year dropdown goes back to 1900.

Enhancements
- Added an aspect ratio feature to the gallery control to allow users the ability to upload images in different ratios but display them at the same ratio. Apart from making this process easier for admins, it also reduces potential display issues.

- When a form is submitted the page now scrolls down to the thank you text to make it clearer that the form has been submitted. This is most useful on longer pages where the thank you text can get lost

New features
A new profiles control has been added to bLive so that staff information can be displayed in a user-friendly format that's styled as per the website design.
- Each profile is created individually with a set number of fields and with the ability to upload an image. Each profile can be attributed to a category e.g teachers, governors etc. so that different categories can be displayed on their respective pages in the website.
- The profiles have individual pages to make them indexable by search engines.
We have simplified and modernised all URLs by removing .aspx so that all future links to pages within the CMS will use the new URL format.
- When creating links to CMS pages in CKEditor or selecting pages to link to in Manage navigation, it will now create the link as www.yoursite.com/contact rather than including .aspx at the end e.g. www.yoursite.com/contact.aspx.
We have updated your xml sitemap to be dynamic. This means that when new navigation items get added to your website, the xml sitemap will automatically update so that web crawlers will now be able to see the most up-to-date version.
- The dynamic xml sitemap shows when the sitemap was last modified and the page URL. This can be found at www.yoursite.com/sitemap.xml

Overall usability of CKEditor has been improved.
- We have added a simplified and more modern skin to the CKEditor interface.
- Unused buttons and options have been removed e.g. find/replace, font family/styles/colour/background colour etc. We have made it more user-friendly by this simplification.
- Within CKEditor the terms 'Browse server' and 'Upload to server' have now been updated to say 'Browse file manager' and 'Upload to file manager' to remain consistent with other areas of bLive.
